In series of today, we let you in on our chat with Elephant Studios, the team that brought you the series of Surface & Grim Tales games. We wanted to examine the roots of the Grim Tales series and learn more about their most recent game Grim Tales: the Queen of stone. Have fun this weekend and give it a try!
Grim Tales is a name that was inherited from another project developed by our company. This game received a new title, and I really liked this one because it suited the concept of the game that we intend to do.
What can I say about the team? Each Member is ready to commit fully to the development of games. Initially the guys who did not experience in the industry has adopted practices of their colleagues who work on other projects in the company. With headlines, their experience and their knowledge developed which allowed them to start making quality faster games. We differ on that warm and friendly relationships that interfere with professionalism and let us work in the unit.
Since childhood, I was eager to know how they make games that so many people find interesting. Growing up, I came across different aspects of the game (design, programming and creation of 3d models). Unknowingly, I soon realized my childhood dream was coming true and was quickly on the way to becoming a game developer.
Inspiration is not always so quick to find. Advice from a colleague could lead you on the right track leading to a major project, or it can be as a film or a book that leads to inspiration.
Development of a project from start to finish is not always following the same amount of time. Sometimes written documentation can take about a month, while the development process is always coupled with many corrections. Each game is different.
When you create a project, we are facing several inevitable circumstances that are difficult to predict at the beginning of the project. Wouldn't be a member or the power of the team stop disease, these events do us review the tasks and find a solution because nothing should stop the release project in time.
My favorite game? If I had to choose among the casual titles it would be MCF: Dire Grove without a doubt. It's a great game and I am always struck by his style and the beauty of the art.
For those who want to develop games I can advise what one thing – do not afraid of everything and reach Elephant!
The team operates as a single entity, like any other team in our company. Through this understanding, there is a mutual help will that allows us to achieve maximum efficiency.
When the game is released, it's always a feeling good because that work hard on it is completed. However, it is not private anxiety a bit because everyone wants their work to get a positive feedback. Reader comments are very important for us, they help us to further develop.
This does not happen often. Any planned is realized in the project. It may work 20 hours a day without weekend to ensure that the game is ready in time, and I am immensely grateful to my team that they do so for reasons of the success of the projects. This is why I really hope that the players appreciate the work we do for them.
The ideas that are born within the walls of our company are usually unique, and if an idea we want to go in our project already exists somewhere, we will try to do much better.
Many people think that the games are for children, but this notion is changing. Regardless of age, people play games and lots of fun.
The most important part of the beginning of a project is the concept. The shading and the search for solutions more successful in order to carry out the project in the right direction is also very important. You should not start a project until you have chosen all of this.
All negative comments are difficult. Every negative word that makes the game and his team, a bad image is in our heart. However, the comments were useful and are sure to listen to the players and try to correct the defects of all players in our games. These observations are important and very valuable.
The output of a game is great responsibility because people will judge the company, once this or this project. This is why we are trying to release only high quality projects. Reputation can not be bought, it can only be won!
